These include suboptimal breeding efficiency, escalating labor costs, and elevated risks associated with disease transmission within flocks. To address these pressing issues and enhance overall farm productivity and biosecurity, a progressive farming enterprise in South Africa made the strategic decision to invest in and deploy a fully automated broiler cage system.

The project was executed through a structured, multi-phase approach to ensure a seamless transition and successful integration:
Market Research and Needs Assessment: The company initiated the project with a thorough analysis of the local and regional broiler market. This phase focused on understanding the demand for automation, evaluating current technological trends, and assessing solutions offered by various suppliers to clearly define the project’s requirements and objectives.
Equipment Selection and Procurement: Following a comprehensive review of multiple manufacturers, the partner selected YMAKO as the supplier for a complete, integrated broiler cage system. The procured solution encompassed automated feeding and drinking lines, advanced environmental monitoring controls, and an efficient manure removal system.
Site Preparation and System Installation: Upon equipment delivery, the existing poultry house was modified and prepared to accommodate the new automated infrastructure. A team of technical specialists then carried out the precise installation, system-wide commissioning, and rigorous functional testing to ensure optimal performance.
Personnel Training and Operational Launch: To secure the long-term success of the investment, comprehensive training was provided to the farm’s operational staff. This training covered daily system operation, routine maintenance procedures, and basic troubleshooting. Following the training period, the automated system was formally launched for full-scale commercial operation.
